Paphos is a coastal city on south-western Cyprus. The originally small village has grown into a big city, based on light industry and the growing tourism industry. The city is divided in two parts: Upper Paphos where the locals live and where most historical buildings and the shopping is located. In Lower Paphos you find the hotels, as well as many restaurants and bars. This is the mythic birthplace of Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love and beauty.
