Albania is a republic in southeastern Europe. It borders Montenegro and Kosovo in the north, Macedonia in the east and Greece in the south. The capital is called Tirana. Albania consists of mountainous terrain and in these areas the temperature and rainfall varies greatly. The plains by the coast have a Mediterranean climate. Albania is Europe's seccond poorest country and many have emigrated. Road networks are being modernised and attempts are made t keep tourism going. Albania stilla has untouched and unexploited Mediterranean gems.
