Valencia is the largest of the three provinces that form the region of Valencia. The city is situated in the middle of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Valencia has several exciting museums and art exhibitions. It has many beautiful buildings and surrounding areas. In addition, Valencia has some wonderful parks, perfect for chilling out in, as the summers here can get very hot. You experience fabulous culture in the areas of Seu and Xerea, where the remnants from the Romans lay hidden under Arabic ruins, modern churches and palaces. The Calendar of national holidays is packed and varied. Each period of the year has its festivities and its own traditional celebrations, for example the tomato fiesta when everybody throws tomatoes at each other all over the city. Valencia also has an excellent gay scene.
