Gibraltar is British territory by the Strait of Gibraltar, on the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula . Since the 18th centruty Spain is claiming the area, but in referendums, the population has given an overwhelming support for belonging to Britain, but would prefer independence. Gibraltar is one of the most densely populated territories in the world, with high living expences as a consequence. The Rock of Gibraltar consists of limestone and is 426 metres high. In the rock there are long tunnels and many caves. The rock is home to the only wild monkeys in Europe, the Barbary Macaques. There's a cable car going to the top of the rock, with a station by the monkeys' nests.
