Athens has many interesting museums and it’s swamped with historical sights, among them ancient Acropolis. Syntagma is the centre of modern Athens, by this square magnificent Hotel Grande Bretagne is located, as well as the parliament that previously was the royal palace of Greece. In the winding alleys of Plaka you find taverns, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and souvenir shops. This is the most popular tourist area in Athens. In Plaka you also find the Roman market and Acropolis is always in view. There are a huge amount of gay bars in Athens, from seedy saunas, cruising parks to bear bars. All this under the watchful eye of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and inspired madness.
