Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic was a quiet little fishing village, but has now become one of the biggest tourist destinations in the country. The village is situated on the Samaná peninsula and has miles of untouched beaches. At the en of the 70s many Europeans began to travel here and that has influenced this village. It now has restaurants with international menus etc. The area has a subtropical ocean climate with little temperature variations. There's no real gay scene but the people are very openminded and friendly.
