Eilat is the southernmost city in Israel, a holiday paradise by the northern shore of the Red Sea and Negev desert’s southern tip. In the summer temperatures reach up to 44 degrees and in the winter 20 degrees. The water temperature is between 25 and 32 degrees. Though Eilat today primarily is a beach resort it is also part of a country with a long history. In the Bible Eilat is mentioned in connection with the exodus out of Egypt. Apart from sun and beach you can try riding a camel, diving or visit biblical theme park Kings City. Eilat has a lively gay scene and Pride is celebrated in May every year.
