Winchester is a historic city ins southern England, with river Itchen running through it. Here, there's history and castles, as well as the famous Winchester Cathedral. It's the secong longest in Europe and the architecture stretches from the 12th to the 16th century. The cathedral was once an important centre for pilgrimage and it's the burial ground for several bishops, Anglo-Saxon monarchs, and later, kings. The city has a university. Since the 70s it also hosts a hat trade fair with street theatre and exhibitions.
