Holiday paradise Provincetown is located on Cape Cod's outer tip in Barnstable County, Massachussetts. Before the Europeans arrived the Nauset tribe lived here. During the 20th century the town was popular among artists, theatre troupes and authors and there were clear links to New York's Greenwich Village. Since the mid-70s the place has become popular as a gay resort and already in 1978 Provincetown Business Guild was formed with the purpose to increase gay tourism to the area.
