Eugène Jansson – Blue Dusk and Naked Athletes
February 18 - June 10, 2012
Eugène Jansson (1862-1915) was a colourful pioneer of modern painting, active around the turn of the century 1900. He has been called ‘the Blue Painter’ because of his depictions of Stockholm at night, wrapped in a poetic dusky blue light. From 1907, he dedicated himself to figure-painting, predominantly depicting naked male athletes and gymnasts.
