Freiburg is the southernmost big city in Germany. It’s a university city and has a Catholic Arch Bishop. The old town of Freiburg receives over 3 million tourists each year. The city centre is characterised by old facades from the Middle Ages, small streams (”Bächle") that have been there for over 800 years, and the daily farmers market held around the cathedral. Freiburg has over 1 800 hours of sun every year. This, paired with a Mediterranean atmosphere, has made it known as the Sun City in Germany. But not only the climate will spoil you, the food will as well, as will the hospitality and the regional wine, as well as an amazing nightlife characterised by the students.
