Mytilene is the capital of Greek island Lesbos, located in the Aegean Sea close to Turkey. The island has 100 000 inhabitants and has named lesbian love through Sappho’s poetry, written about year 600 B.C. As with all the other Greek islands, this is an area with many historical places, marked by wars, and enriched with culture. Lesbos is a popular destination for lesbians and around the island there are many small hotels specifically targeting women.
