Linköping is the county town and diocese of Östergötland. The city is the seventh largest in Sweden and is one of the country’s biggest university towns. Internationally the city is known because of SAAB Technologies manufacturing of airplanes. Linköping has been a central town in the area since the 12th century, also in relation to religious life with the building of Vreta monastery in 1128. The city scene is dominated by the cathedral with a 107 meter high tower visible from all over town. Besides the church, a visit to the Castle and cathedral museum, a walk in old Linköping, and a trip to the art museum with its collections by, among others, Albrecht Dürer-verkt, are recommended. Since 2005 The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights (RFSL) has organised a Pride march called Love Parade.
