Croatia is up and coming! The country reminds of Italy - but it is much cheaper and the water is a deeper shade of turquoise. Zagreb, situated by river Sava, is not only the capital of the country but also its centre of tourism. The city has a very long history and a rich cultural heritage from the time of the Roman Empire, as an example. Recently Zagreb celebrated its 900th birthday! There are numerous cultural and historical monuments here, as well as museums and galleries. In addition, there most certainly are some gay bars and the summertime is time for cruising.
