In the capital, Bangkok, and tourist resorts Phuket, Pattaya and Chiang Mai you will get by quite well with ”simplified English” but don’t let that stop you from exploring other parts of Thailand also. The country has a well developed infrastructure of busses, trains and planes. Many small travel agents will help you book transport and hotels. There are reasons why the country is called ”The land of smiles” and one of the best tips when visiting Thailand is to smile. When you find yourself in a situation, you don’t understand or experience problems, a smile will help you, while a raised voice and expressed anger will dispatch you to stone cold outer space.
